The Different Types Of Rings
Rings are given to people for all kinds of occasions. For instance, they can be given for an anniversary, engagement, or another reason. When choosing one, it can be hard to select the right one since there are a lot of styles of them out there to pick from. Here are just some of the ring styles available.
A common choice are princess cut engagement rings. The gems and stones for this one have a classic cut that is square in shape. They have a flat top with ridged edges. The stone on it is available in a few cuts. One is the standard cut and the other is the brilliant cut, which has more sparkly facets on it. These cuts can be combined as well.
An antique engagement ring is definitely a unique choice. These come from all different eras and in different styles, such as Victorian, Edwardian, and art deco. These tend to be very pricey unless they are found at something such as a garage sale or an independent person is selling one. Many people like this option because each piece has history behind it. To be an antique, it has to be at least fifty years old.
The choice that is lined with diamonds is an eternity ring. Love being eternal is what is represented by the loop of diamonds. These are sometimes given for other reasons besides engagements like anniversaries or as a gift to someone in a serious relationship to show a loving gesture symbolizing commitment.
A heart shaped diamond ring has a cut with concave and convex angles. It has a more elongated shape is typically made out of lower quality stones. They do not usually have a high carat count. These are given sometimes as a friendship ring and if given for an engagement, the shape is representative of a symbol of love.
An available style in many shapes is the cushion cut ring. These come in shapes that look like emerald, princess, and oval cut. They are supposed to look a bit like an overstuffed cushion and look puffier and rounded. This style is one of the most popular out there.

Color Inspiration: Ivory and Brass (casasugar?format=xml)
Last night, Viola Davis glowed at the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Decked out in a white Marchesa gown with a metallic embroidered bodice, the
color read more brass than gold, especially when compared to the color in her
gold bracelet. I love the contrast between the milky dress and the metallic
accents and set out to find some home decorating pieces that embraced a
similar color scheme.
I'm a major fan of brass lamps, so it makes sense that three of the items I've
chosen are types of lighting. Start with your overhead illumination needs with
the infinitely affordable Brass Tiered Pendant Shade ($64). Made from a
material mix of plastic, brass, copper, and glass, it's an inexpensive way to
get in on the brass trend.
My favorite lighting choice, however, is the Hammered Brass Sconce ($165) from
Serena & Lily. A concave, hand-hammered brass oval shape reflects light and
will cast a warm glow throughout your room. I'm tempted to switch out my
bedroom sconces with a pair of these brass sconces - they'd add such ambiance!
