Choose The Right Engagement Ring
From classic and ever-popular solitaire engagement rings to multi-stoned ones, selecting the perfect engagement ring for the person that you love can feel a bit overwhelming, confusing and even a little intimidating trying to find the right one. Nowadays, there seems to be so much hype over the look, feel, and quality of an engagement ring--not to mention so many different types to choose from--that it can sometimes leave would-be proposers stuck with their heads spinning.
Doing a bit of research and observation can help would-be proposers quite significantly. If you're not already sure what your partner would prefer in their engagement ring due to lack of sly hinting, then it may be a good idea to ask a friend or relative of their to help you out, providing that you can trust them with keeping things secret, should you be aiming to surprise your loved one.
If there is no one available to help in the guesswork of finding out a partner's style preference, then another option that one can do is to check out the jewelry that the other person already has. The chances are good that if they have simple-styled jewelry, that the same will likely be for their desired engagement ring, and vice versa. For example, if you note princess-cut gemstone rings within their jewelry collection, then it may be a safe bet to consider princess cut engagement rings.
There are many different types of shapes when it comes to an engagement ring's stone choices, often making it the hardest of choices one will face, and it also happens to be likely the most significant thing to sort style-wise, as everyone's taste will vary. Cuts such as square-shaped, emerald, oval, heart, asscher, pear-shaped, radiant, the classic round-cut and oval are generally the most well-known and popular options available.
If you're unable to figure out what your partner prefers in stone shapes, then a good rule of thumb is to pick what will not only be easy to wear on a daily basis, but complements them as well. For example, someone with slightly bigger-sized hand may do well with a square-cut stone, while round-cut does quite well for smaller hands. Either way, both are likely the most popular choices out there. Also thing about edges, as sometimes pointy or sharp edges can catch onto thing or even scratch the wearer and others if they're not careful.
When taking into the consideration the type of ring, this means what sort of metal is used for the band. While some may have no particular preference, or could even do well with something that is two-toned, others may have specific tastes when it comes to the color of certain metals. Try to see what the person wears most often. However, should all else fail, white gold and platinum are often the more popular choices, often due to the fact that they are neutral in color and pretty much go with every skin tone and articles of clothing.
The overall style of the ring's band is something people will also want to take into consideration. There are many selections to choose from, being anything from simple to more ornate, or from solid bands to those that are more filigree. In this case, it's often a good idea to follow what feels right and take into consideration the person's personality, and simply go for there. If they have a more timeless sense of style, preferring old-world or vintage items, then perhaps consider finding a antique engagement ring, which she is sure to love for its sentimental value and exquisite craftsmanship alone.
Any ideas for a "peach" themed wedding. Something "peachy".?
My wedding is July '09. Colors ivory w/ peach accent. I like the theme "Perfect Pear" but I want to have peaches in my centerpieces. Please help, this will be the theme of my wedding and will go on our Save the Date that will be mailed out at the beginning of the year. Examples of themes "Mint to Be", "whisked away", "love beyond measure"
I have no idea what you could say for peaches, except your name and his name followed by:
"go together like peaches and cream"
since ivory is your color, and cream is usually white.....
