How to build a round ball with square bricks?
I looked all over the net, but only things I can find are books I need to buy.. I want to learn how to build a big round ball with only square bricks.
I'd like to learn to build one for the Minecraft game. All they use are blocks.. So the smaller the ball the less it looks like one?
You can only approximate a sphere, and the larger the blocks and the smaller the sphere, the poorer the approximation is. Do you plan on cutting the blocks to the curve of the sphere or making the sphere with a large number of flat edges?
How do you plan to support it? A sphere touches the ground at only one point and is relatively unstable, ie, it will roll.
Usual bricks are not square, so what is the dimensions of these square blocks?
Is the sphere hollow or solid? Is there any steel reinforcement? Does it have to support any weight? Does it have to roll? How fast, on what surface?
