Why Portugal Is The Most Interesting Country In Europe

Portugal consists of a strip of land running down the western side of Spain, this is the only other country it shares a boarder with and it is otherwise surrounded by sea, the med terrain to the South and the Atlantic to the west. Portugals main claim to fame in a historical sense is that it was one of the great explorers in the 18th century, discovering places like Brazil. Portugal also rules over the small island of Madeira situated in the Atlantic.

 

Much Portuguese money is generated from toursim, with the southern Algarve region attracting the most visitors, although the northern capital, Lisbon is also popular. The region boasts beautiful sandy beaches, clean ocenas, acres of golf courses, busy bars and restaurants that cater for families, couples and younger groups.

 

Many people like the country so much they even decide to get a Mortgage in Portugal on a large villa and live there in winter while renting it out in the summer months. This has proved highly lucrative for some people due to the popularity of the Algarve region. If you are considering Portugese property finance at the moment then you may well be on to something.

 

Portugal has made its mark on the world stage, the country produces some top class sports talents such as Christaino Ronaldo and possibly the most sought after manager in the world, Jose Mourinho. These two superstars ooze class and their Latin passion has helped them reach the top of their game numerous times and in different countries.

 

While we are on the subject of sport it is worth mentioning Portugal's excellent hosting of the 2004 Euro football tournament which the home team unfortunately lost. Portugal enjoys an excellent climate, with warm dry Summers and mild winters, it also avoids the stifling heat and humidity suffered by inland cities like Madrid due to the proximity to the ocean.
