Hockey Equipment - How To Determine Which Is Most Suitable
The right equipment is important in any sport but especially in hockey. On top of skates that fit well and give you the movement you need to effectively get around on the ice you'll also want other protective parts. One of the roughest and fastest sports around, you'll often see pucks flying around at speeds well over 80 miles per hour. When it comes to getting everything you need the following article tips will help. Also, in case you're interested, one of the best ways to get in shape for the hockey season is with P90X, it's extremely effective. Check out this P90X results blog.
When it comes to buying hockey equipment, skates may be your most important purchase ever. Just as shoes are critical for basketball players and track stars, skates are crucial pieces of equipment in the sport of hockey. Hockey skates, on average, should run about 1.5 sizes smaller than your shoes. It's important to be comfortable but you should reserve judgment about the fit of the skates until they've been broken in. In other words, avoid wearing new skates for a game until you've worn them for quite a few practice sessions. Hockey tape is a useful piece of gear that you should always have with you. You may need tape to fasten your hockey socks to your shin guards or to tape your stick. You get a better grip with hockey tape on the top of your stick. You can see how in the heat of a game this one maneuver can make a big impact on the rest of the game and how well you play. Blade taping helps with puck maneuvering. As you can see hockey tape is a very useful tool you need to have in your arsenal.
New gear is available in a wide array of price ranges. When it comes to items that can be expensive, such as hockey sticks and skates, you want to get good quality equipment, but you should also consider how serious you are about the game and what your needs really are. Beginners are better off buying less expensive equipment and later upgrading. Protective head gear is important for the expert as well as the novice so don't skimp in this area. When you start shopping for hockey supplies, you'll realize how many different items you really need. You'll want to be fully protected from head to which makes it a great idea to make lists to be sure you haven't missed anything. This article has covered a few helpful hints for picking hockey equipment that is right for you. Last but not least, if you really want to get in shape for hockey season, buy P90X. Great program.
Male, 41, pointy skull, loosing hair, help!?
K, so my skull is what I call, pointy. From the front to the back, there is a 4" long by 1" wide mound that protrudes at the very top (kinda like the dirt tunnels bugs bunny digs). I'd say it probably protrudes about 1/2" on top (protrusions are higher in front and back). I really didn't care about this, until I started going rapidly bald recently. You can start to see the point in the front hair line, since it is way thin now. Before, you can't see any bump, even with 1" hair length. My fear, is that when I go totally bald, it will be really noticeable.
My question is this, any suggestions on what to do for it? Could the doctor put 1/4" tall implants in on the sides of it to make it look more round? Could the doctor sand off 1/4" of skull to make it more round? Could I stand on my head on the concrete everyday to flatten the point? Help!
There are medicines that you can take that will regrow your hair and/or at least stop hair loss but you should see a dermatologist (a skin doctor) first since your hair could be thinning for many different reasons. Do nothing until you see a dermatologist so he/she can determine the cause of your hair loss. An office visit with a dermatologist will probably cost around $75 if you don't have insurance. The dermatologist will give you treatment options depending on the cause of your hair loss.
If your hair loss is due to typical male pattern baldness then I would recommend a daily regimen of finasteride, 5% minoxidil, and 2% ketoconazole shampoo. It has been clinical proven in human studies to actually work but you should see a dermatologist first. You can find credible and reliable information about treatments that work at the links below.
